Boosting sound of video files

So I was watching a .mkv file on my PC and it was way to quiet, so I looked around on the web and discovered that windows media player classic is able to do this.

Click view, then options.

Then click audio switcher.

And change the boost to whatever you need, don't forget to click apply or ok.
